Little Black Book Of Light – Cam Tapp

At the age of 5 when asked what Cam Tapp wanted to do when he grew up, he clearly remembers answering very simply 'I want to be a drummer in a rock band'. Now thirty years later, the Tasmanian born, Melbourne-based, singer- songwriter says it's almost a case of 'I can see clearly now'... a sort of Johnny Nash optimism, after a long climb to his own mountain summit.

As the public face and lead singer/songwriter for Melbourne based rock band Borne, Cam Tapp has spent the past 5 years touring the world and writing and recording consecutively, with Borne releasing their 3rd major studio album 'The Blessed Unrest' last July.

Signed to Jellyfish Records in 2003, Borne was catapulted into the mainstream media when their debut single ‘The Guide’ was simultaneously featured around the globe in an iTunes world first ‘single of the week’.

The reaction was unmistakeable, as the song tugged on the heartstrings of the world. ‘The Guide’ soared to Number 1 on the iTunes-charts of three Countries and number 13 on the US digital billboard charts, hitting more than a million downloads in it’s first week.

Back at home Borne was receiving accolades as one of Australia’s top-respected Indie artists, culmination in a clean sweep of the 2007 MusicOz Awards, including Artist of the Year, Best Acoustic Singer-Songwriter, the Garth Porter Producer Award and the Nova Unsigned Initiative.

The strength of song writing displayed in ‘The Guide’ continues to see recognition with recent features on a national Pal Pedigree's adopt a dog campaign, resulting in the rescue of tens of thousands of homeless dogs across Australia,NBC’s ‘Army Wives’ and ‘Friday night lights’ and even more recently as an entrance song to the American WWE 25th Anniversary airing to an estimated global audience of 1.5 billion viewers.
